Belgium

Belgium is home to some of the most atmospheric cemeteries in the project. At Dieweg Cemetery in the south of Brussels, nature and tombs have long since grown into one another. Campo Santo in Ghent and Laeken in Brussels show a proud tradition of funerary art, while Schoonselhof in Antwerp and the central cemetery of Bruges set it within generous green grounds.

The country also holds forgotten vaults beneath its cemeteries, whose exact locations are withheld for their protection.
