With Père Lachaise in Paris, France has one of the best-known cemeteries in the world. MEMENTO shows it alongside the Cimetière de l'Est in Metz, whose decaying tombs are slowly being taken over by ivy, the graveyard at the Saint-Hilaire ossuary in Marville, and an abandoned cemetery whose location is withheld for its protection.
